Application Deadline – Equalize Startups 2027
Equalize Startups is accepting applications for its 2027 cohorts through November 13, 2026. Equalize is a free, six-month program for women in academia who want to explore turning their research into a startup.
Participants, known as Equalizers, receive one-on-one mentorship; training on intellectual property, fundraising, and pitch development; and a community of peers, mentors, and investors. The program includes an in-person Experiential Learning Day in Cambridge, MA, in March 2027, with travel covered by Equalize. It concludes with a virtual pitch event in June 2027. Since 2020, 165+ women innovators have come through the program.
Who should apply: women with an academic appointment (tenured, tenure-track, or research faculty), postdocs, and graduate students at an academic research institution who hold a pending or issued patent or copyright from that institution. Applicants should have raised less than $1 million in dilutive funding and be less than five years from clinic or product launch. A company is not required.
